Summer is fast approaching. We know, when we talk about summer most of us can picture out alluring beaches. And, we can’t blame you. But, summer isn’t just about fun and beaches. It also means it’s time to brace ourselves for the hot and sunny weather.
As summer is getting near, most of us are probably getting ready to change our wardrobes to make sure we are dressed aptly for the weather.
#SummerGoals – How to Look Cool and Feel Cool under the Scorching Heat
As the temperature starts to rise, it’s time to save those wooly coats and boots for the next winter season. For the most part, summer is the time for flimsy and relaxed outfits. But, you certainly cannot just wear a tee and short with flip-flops for the rest of the season.
Below are some tips on how you can get light and colorfully dressed for this summer so you can look and feel cool even during the warm weather:
1. Stay Cool Even Under the Heat, Go for Lightweight Clothing and Fabrics
Heavy-type fabrics have the tendency to trap your sweat and they’ll also cling to your skin. In other words, they’ll only add up a layer of hotness. Choose fabrics made from natural and lightweight materials like cotton or linen. These fabrics are cooler to the skin and tend to dry faster – in case sweating is really unavoidable.
2. Choose Breathable Fabrics
The best way to stay comfortable despite high temperature is to choose a clothing made of fabric that allow your body to breathe such as cotton, chiffon and linen as well as other fabric made of natural fibers.
3. Wear Clothes and Accessories That Offer Sun Protection
The sun’s ultraviolet rays are harmful and can cause various skin diseases. As such, while it’s important to look your best even during the summer you should not forget that you need to make sure your body is covered and protected from the sun’s heat. Use protective sunglasses and floppy or wide-brimmed hats to protect yourself when you have to go out under the sun.
4. Opt for Lighter Colors for the Hot Weather
Darker colors are known to absorb more heat so they’re going to be warmer and uncomfortable during the hot weather. On the other hand, lighter colors absorb less heat making them more suitable for the hot climate. So, move over little black dress, the little white dress will be far more perfect for the summer.
5. Summer Chic Styles – Beat the Heat, Stay Stylish
This summer flowery and colorful dresses are wardrobe staples to achieve the summer chic vibes. Knee-length sundresses that come in soft pastel colors like pale pink, mint green or rose beige make for an adorable feminine look, as are floral dresses in tropical shades. A flowing, maxi skirt perhaps with a discreet split in the leg is great to rock a flirty and sassy look.
While flip-flops spells comfort when it’s hot outside, you can go for a more polished look with open-toed pair of sandals or espadrille wedges. For accessories, aim for summer-inspired blings such as handbags in bold colors, bangle bracelets and beaded necklaces.
